2 DAY HANG-GLIDING COURSE

The two-day course is a great way to see what hang-gliding is all about. You will learn to fly solo off our training hills. Your instructor will give you the skills to do it yourself. Now it is up to you to take the next step! 

What to expect:

The first day is the same as the hang gliding day course. On day two is where it all changes and you get to fly! Yes, you get to fly off the training hill solo. Your feet will leave the ground. You will spend the morning getting a feel for take-offs and landings. You will be on cloud 9 for the rest of the day. We will end the day with theory and debriefing.

Your instructors will guide you through every stage. We will progress you at your own pace. This course will enable you to discover hang gliding in a fun environment with highly skilled instructors with many years of experience. 

Oz Paragliding & Hang gliding will provide the student with all of the required hang gliding equipment during these classes, including radios, helmets, harnesses and glider. Students should bring sturdy footwear that you can run in. Lots of sunblock and a sun hat and don’t forget plenty of water. This course is just the start. You will need to join SAFA as a student member before starting the course.

Allow: 5 hours a day for two days.

Day one: On the first morning you will learn about your hang gliding equipment, how to clip into the glider and to run with the glider.

 You will ground train on gentle slopes close to the ground in the morning. You will be working on the take-off phase.

Day two: The next day usually consists of solo flights, either multiple flights from our private training hill. Your instructors will guide you through every stage of your course. We will progress you at your own pace.

This course will enable you to discover hang gliding. You may even want to continue on and do your SAFA 9 day Novice license course.

Oz Paragliding and Hang gliding will provide the student with all of the required hang gliding equipment during these classes, including gliders, harnesses, radios, and helmets.

Students should bring sturdy footwear. This course delivers an excellent idea of what is involved in hang gliding.
